USRA Select Crowned Champions at Abu Dhabi World Schools 7s Festival and are set to return home triumphantly today.
Uganda School Rugby Association (USRA) Select etched its name in history by clinching the Rugby 7s title at the 2025 Abu Dhabi World Schools Festival, delivering a thrilling comeback after a challenging 15s mishap – capped by a heroic return to Uganda today.

The young Ugandan side faced early setbacks in the 15s, including a defeat to Zimbabwe’s Junior Sables. Undeterred, they channeled that grit into the 7s tournament, storming to victory with commanding performances in the finals.
In a dominant display, USRA Select overwhelmed Odyssey 35-0 and also crushed Hornets 19-0 to secure the championship.
It was a true team triumph win, with every player contributing relentlessly, Mujuni Abraham’s try-scoring bursts, Musyimi Daniel Musyoka’s flawless kicking, and the squad’s unyielding defence and support play combining to overpower opponents from start to finish.
This historic win underscores the rising talent in schools rugby, and the seamless transition between formats that defines the sport’s global appeal. The triumphant team touches down today, Monday, December 22, at Entebbe International Airport at 10:00 PM local time.
