Tunisia’s U20 Rugby team will arrive in Uganda on 23 July 2026 for a joint training camp and two test matches against Uganda U20 as both sides intensify preparations for the Rugby Africa U20 Barthés Trophy 2026 in Kampala.

The visit forms part of the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding between Uganda Rugby and the Tunisian Rugby Federation, aimed at strengthening technical cooperation and competitive exchange. The two teams will face off in test matches on 26 July and again later in the week, providing coaches with a valuable opportunity to assess combinations, tactics, and match readiness ahead of the continental championship.

Following the tests, the teams will continue with a joint high performance camp featuring shared training sessions, unit work, and match analysis. The programme is expected to sharpen technical execution, tactical awareness, and overall tournament preparedness.

“Tunisia’s visit is a major boost to our preparations,” said Sarah Adong, chairperson of the 2026 Rugby Africa Barthes Cup LOC. “The two test matches will give our boys quality international exposure and help us assess where we stand before the Barthés Trophy.”

The Rugby Africa U20 Barthés Trophy 2026 will be hosted at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, under the theme “The Road to Africa’s U20 Crown Begins.” Tunisia’s early arrival underscores Uganda’s commitment to world class preparation as the Junior Rugby Cranes aim for continental success on home soil.
