Stanbic Black Pirates RFC will carry Uganda’s flag into the Enterprise Cup final against Kabras Sugar RFC, with the Kampala side standing one win away from a historic moment for Ugandan club rugby.
Pirates earned their place in the decider the hard way, producing two knockout wins over Kenyan opposition to emerge as Uganda’s sole representative in the competition. They edged KCB Rugby 11-10 in the quarter-finals at Muteesa II Royal Stadium, Wankulukuku, on 21 March before holding their nerve to defeat Nondescripts RFC 20-17 in a bruising semi-final at Kings Park Arena on 11 April.

Those results have reflected the qualities that have defined Black Pirates throughout the tournament: discipline, physical intensity, and a refusal to yield under pressure. More importantly for Uganda Rugby, the team has shown that it can go toe-to-toe with some of Kenya’s most established clubs and still find a way through.
Kabras Sugar arrive as defending champions and the side to beat. The Kakamega-based team booked their place in the final with a 61-19 win over Heathens RFC in the quarter-finals at Muteesa II Royal Stadium, Wankulukuku and a 29-20 victory over Menengai Oilers in the semi-finals at ASK Showgrounds. They now stand between Black Pirates and a chance to bring a major regional trophy back to Uganda.
The final will be played on Saturday, May 30, at RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi, a neutral venue for both sides, with kick-off set for 3:00 PM EAT. Kabras have already played in Uganda during the campaign, while Black Pirates are set to take their unbeaten knockout run on the road for the first time.
