Uganda’s delegation comprises the senior women’s team, men’s representative side (Uganda Select), the Under 18 boys, and Under 18 girls. The tournament, one of East Africa’s biggest annual sevens festivals, will bring together 18 teams from Africa and Europe. Uganda return to Nairobi with a strong record. The Under 18 side are the defending age grade champions, while the women’s team are two – time Safari 7s Cup winners, having lifted the title in 2016 and 2023 and finishing with silver in 2025. The men’s programme will be looking to further test the team with competition at the tournament.
Tough Pool for Uganda Men
Twelve men’s teams have been divided into three pools, with Uganda drawn in Pool A alongside hosts Kenya Shujaa, Scotland and SportPesa Fast Forwards 7s. The pool presents an immediate test, with Kenya Shujaa and Scotland providing high level opposition and SportPesa Fast Forwards 7s adding further physicality to the group. The draw guarantees a demanding weekend for the team.

Lady Cranes Target Another Title
The Lady Cranes enter the women’s competition as 2025 finalists and will be seeking another strong campaign as they attempt to reclaim the Safari 7s crown. The six team women’s tournament will be played on a round robin basis, with Uganda joined by Kenya Lionesses, Kenya Cubs, Tunisia, Tuks Women and Junior Lionesses.

U18 Champions Return
The defending champions (U18 Boys) return with their competition scheduled for Friday as a one day tournament within the wider Safari 7s weekend. The age grade competition has become an important platform for developing young talent in the region, and their return provides another opportunity for Uganda’s emerging players to test themselves against some of the region’s best young talent.
With Uganda represented in all categories, the 28th Safari 7s will offer another significant test of the country’s depth in the shortened format.
