The Nile Special Uganda 7s is set for an electrifying start in the Fourth Stop ( Rujumba 7s).
The Stanbic Black Pirates will host this thrilling tournament at the Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere on Saturday, 30th August 2025, and Sunday, 31st August 2025.
The competition holds a special significance, as it honours the memory of Late Henry Rujumba, a revered figure in Ugandan rugby who passed away in 2015. A former student of Ntare School, Rujumba built his legacy in the early 2000s as a standout player for the Uganda Rugby Premiership Club, which we know today as the Stanbic Black Pirates.
Performing well in the Rujumba 7s and the other Stops in the tournament is vital for clubs aiming to win the overall National 7s Series title. In a lively ceremony attended by the press, Stanbic Bank Uganda and the Black Pirates Rugby Club, celebrated the extension of their long-standing partnership. The event not only marked the signing of a renewed three-year sponsorship deal but also served as the launch platform for the team’s new official kit.
Two non-core invitational sides, Warriors and Impis, withdrew from the competition. They have been replaced by the BOKS and RAMS 2, who will now take their places in the lineup.
The fixtures for Day 1 are organized into three rounds: Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3 as per tournament manual. The Men’s 12 Core teams such as Stanbic Black Pirates, Toyota Buffaloes, KCB KOBS, Walukuba Barbarians and many more are among the teams that will light up the field. Invitational teams include Sailors, BOKs, Jaguars, and RAMS 2. Women’s competition is also scheduled, featuring teams such as She Wolves, Walukuba Titans, Avengers, Ewes, Thunderbirds, Black Pearls, Nile Rapids, and Panthers.
The stage is set for a spectacular display of speed, skill, and sheer passion at the Rujumba 7s!
