On Thursday, 30th October 2025, Ugandan rugby enthusiasts gathered at Busambaga Rugby Grounds in a commemorative event to honor the late Ronald Adigasi after a requiem mass at St John’s Church Entebbe. Adigasi, one of Uganda rugby’s most celebrated figures, passed away suddenly on the night of Sunday 26th October 2025.

The mass, held at St John’s Church in Entebbe, was attended by mourners from the rugby community, former schoolmates, colleagues, and friends. Upon arrival at Busambaga, home of Mongers RFC, players wearing Mongers jerseys carried the casket of late Adigasi, a founding member of the club, accompanied by the solemn sounds of a trumpet.
Victor Wadia, African Champion and teammate of the late Adigasi, paid tribute to his late friend’s rugby career, dedication to family, passion for the sport, and fondness for food and snacks. He shared heartfelt memories of team tours and the camaraderie they shared.

Godwin Kayangwe, President of the Uganda Rugby Union, praised Adigasi’s humanity and character. Kigongo Ssebalamu, Assistant Coach of the Lady Cranes 7s and former teammate, recounted the founding of Mongers RFC and highlighted Adigasi’s crucial role, including securing funding through his workplace to sustain the team.

In a show of support, Uganda Rugby legends joined Mongers RFC in launching a memorial fund for Adigasi, contributing a total of 5 million shillings.
Described as a family man, friend, coach, guardian, and African Champion, Ronald Adigasi was honored with a guard of honor by the rugby community as his body was carried from Busambaga Rugby Grounds by teammates notably from the 2007 camp with Victor Wadia, and Brian Tabaruka at the front as the body left for burial in Madi Okolo district on 1st November 2025.
