Uganda Cup Round 2
The Uganda Cup’s second round, played on Saturday,26th October,2025, offered a compelling mix of nail-biting contests and outright demonstrations of power, setting a clear early tone for the national rugby season. Saturday provided a story for every fan, from last-gasp victories to record-breaking scorelines.
The headline act was undoubtedly at the Makerere Graveyard, where the Makerere Impis secured a hard-fought and crucial 24-19 victory over the Victoria Sharks. In a match defined by shifting momentum, the Impis showed immense character to overturn a halftime deficit and clinch their first win, sending a strong message to their supporters about the team’s resilience for the campaign ahead.

While the Impis and Sharks battled it out, other traditional powerhouses were in no mood for pleasantries. The KCB KOBs unleashed an offensive tsunami, putting a staggering 102 points past the Fort Portal Tyrants in a performance that will make the entire competition take notice. Similarly, the Heathens roared to a dominant 57-6 away victory against the Kitgum Lions, firmly establishing their championship credentials.
The Black Pirates, another title favourite, continued their winning ways with a solid 26-10 win over the Lifeguard Rams. Though not as explosive as their round-one performance, the victory demonstrated their ability to grind out a result against a determined side. The Hippos also joined the high-scoring party, running in 78 unanswered points against the Mbale Elephants.
Completing the round of away victories, the Toyota Buffaloes secured a 17-0 win over the Kakira Simbas, while the Rhinos, and Kigezi Silverbacks marched against the Gulu City Falcons and Walukuba Barbarians in walk-over wins respectively..

The results from this pivotal round have effectively separated the early front-runners from the chasing pack.
