PRESS RELEASE: UGANDA RUGBY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Kampala, Uganda – Tuesday, 28 April 2026, Uganda Rugby officially announces its General Assembly Scheduled for 1st May 2026 at Hotel Africana in Kampala, Uganda.

This annual meeting held in accordance of Article 10 of the Uganda Rugby Constitution will address key organizational, structural, and management matters including presentation of reports, audited accounts, and proposed budgets for the new year 2026 among others.

Key Aspects of the 2026 General Assembly will include:

  • Presentation of the Status of Uganda Rugby Compliance with the Sports Act 2023, Cap 151 and Constitutional amendments.
  • Election of 2nd Women’s Presentative, and 2 Athletes representatives who will seat directly on the Uganda Rugby Executive.

About the AGM

The Uganda Rugby Union Special General Assembly is the paramount constitutional meeting of the Union, serving as a critical platform for governance, transparency, and strategic planning. Convened under Article 10 of the Uganda Rugby Constitution, this assembly brings together member delegates to review the Union’s performance, evaluate the previous year’s financial and executive reports, and determine the budgetary direction for the upcoming year. Additionally, the assembly plays a vital role in ensuring organizational alignment with the Sports Act 2023, facilitating necessary constitutional amendments, and conducting the election of key leadership representatives to ensure continued representation, and accountability within the sport.
