LADY CRANES XVS OFFICIALLY FLAGGED OFF AHEAD OF RUGBY AFRICA WOMEN’S CUP 2026 (PERFORMANCE DIVISION) IN NAIROBI

Kampala, 19 May 2026 — Uganda Rugby today held a spirited flag-off ceremony for the Uganda Lady Cranes XVs at Cooper Chimney, Lugogo, as the national women’s team prepares to compete in the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup (Performance Division) scheduled in Nairobi, Kenya from 21–31 May 2026.

The flag-off was led by members of the Uganda Rugby Executive and representatives from the National Council of Sports.

Team captain Angella Nanyonjo addressed guests and media, expressing confidence in the squad’s preparation and determination to deliver strong performances against some of Africa’s best sides. The Lady Cranes will travel to Kenya on Thursday, 21 May 2026, with their opening match scheduled against the host nation Kenya on Saturday, 23 May 2026. Other opponents in the Performance Division include South Africa, and Madagascar.
