POST MATCH PRESS RELEASE: LADY CRANES VERSUS SOUTH AFRICA IN THEIR SECOND GAME OF THE RUGBY AFRICA WOMENS CUP 2026, PERFORMANCE DIVISION.

Nairobi, Kenya — 27 May 2026. Lady Cranes XVs earlier today played against South Africa in their second game of the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup 2026, Performance division at RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.

Match overview
The Lady Cranes entered the fixture determined to challenge a strong South African side and produced several encouraging attacking phases that yielded three tries. Peace Lekuru opened Uganda’s account with a well-taken try, which Bushira Namutebi converted.

Unity Namulala and Mastula Namboozo added further tries as the team continued to create scoring opportunities. Namutebi also added a late penalty to close Uganda’s scoring. Despite these positives, South Africa’s experience and clinical execution in key moments determined the outcome.

Uganda conceded points from sustained pressure and set-piece platforms which the opponents capitalised on. The coaching staff will review match footage to address defensive organisation and discipline while building on the attacking combinations that produced tries.
