Platinum Credit Heathens, one of Uganda’s most decorated rugby sides, added a new chapter to its proud story with the election of a fresh Executive Committee on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Kyadondo Rugby Club.

In the headline race for Chairmanship, Mr. Desire Derekford Mugumisa secured 66 votes to defeat Mr. Daniel Rweyora, who polled 43. 

Several positions were filled unopposed, underlining broad consensus around the club’s leadership. Emmanuel Muhangi was confirmed as Secretary, Martin Namutso as Treasurer, and Lucy Ssuubi as Executive Committee Member (Media, Commercial and Advertisement), a role central to driving communication, sponsorship and fan engagement.

Heathens RFC also confirmed Nobert Sexton Okeny as Club Captain, extending his influence from the pitch into the club’s wider leadership group.

With a new Executive Committee in place and key leadership roles confirmed, Heathens now turns its focus to build for the future. As the club prepares for the 2026 season, members and supporters alike will expect the new leadership to uphold Heathens’ winning culture and to build on the legacy created at Kyadondo over more than two decades.
