Central Uganda Rugby Association Unveils New EXCOM Leadership.
Fahad Matovu was elected as the new Chairman of the Central Uganda Rugby Association (CURA) at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Kyadondo Rugby Club on Saturday, January 10, 2026, starting at 10 a.m.
The gathering united club members and Uganda Rugby Union (URU) dignitaries including upcountry EXCOM member Mr. Duncan, and CEO Isaac Lutwama for a day of reflection, decisions, and fresh leadership.
Interim Chairman Adam Kabalega kicked off proceedings by leading the reading of previous minutes and a thorough review of CURA’s 2025 achievements.
Members then deliberated on the format for the 2026 championship. They unanimously agreed to retain the successful festival format from 2025, which helps clubs minimize costs while fostering participation.
The assembly also resolved to convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) to update the CURA constitution once the URU constitution is finalized.
Elections followed, conducted impartially by Vian Matsiko, Assistant Technical Officer at URU. The newly elected Executive Committee (EXCOM) was introduced as follows:
