The stage is set for a spectacular conclusion to the Nile Special Uganda 7s rugby series as the Toyota Buffaloes officially launched the 7th and final stop today at their home ground, Kyadondo Rugby Club. The air was thick with anticipation as sponsors and partners gathered to promise fans a weekend of unforgettable rugby, entertainment, and celebration.

This marks the Buffaloes’ first time hosting since 2022. Toyota Buffaloes Chairman, Kevin Nyeko, set the tone, stating, “Buffaloes last hosted in 2022, it was memorable then, and it will be memorable again. Best wishes to every team that is going to participate.”
The event saw robust support from the circuit’s key sponsors. Eric Malinga, Nile Special Brand Manager, emphasized their commitment, saying, “We as Nile Special are ready to support. Come and watch the Guts and the Grit that comes with rugby.” He also hinted at the renowned after-party, adding, “we can’t wait to enjoy with the fans, and of course, enjoy responsibly.”

Mugumisa DerrickFord Desire, Chairman of the Nile Special Uganda 7s committee, expressed his excitement as well “There is a lot of action that will come to us on the pitch, and the organizers are going with the Caribbean theme! I think that’s a nice creative touch to add,” he said, encouraging fans to show up in themed attire to amplify the festive atmosphere.
Fans have a lot to look forward to beyond the tries and tackles. Patricia Cathy Tusuubira, Marketing and Event Coordinator for Toyota by CFAO, announced free ticket giveaways via their social media pages, and a free car check-up service for all Toyota owners at the event, complete with a discount on any repairs after.
John Isabirye, Corporate Sales Manager for MTN Momo, revealed a special promotion: “Today at midday, tickets will be at half price! Go to our pages and buy some tickets.” He also confirmed that MTN is providing the prize money for both the male and female winners, promising a significant incentive for the competing teams.

The off-pitch entertainment promises to be just as thrilling. Eric Malinga, the Nile Special Brand Manager, promised “Unmatched promotion” and pocket-friendly offers! Camilla from RockBoom pledged to hydrate and energise the crowd, while Mr. Kalungi Ashraf from Quality Lighting Uganda promised a dazzling display, hinting, “We deal in fireworks, so expect a bright sky this weekend.”
