Nakuru, Kenya – Uganda’s Toyota Buffaloes hit the ground running in Nakuru, holding a focused captains’ run earlier today at the Menengai Oilers’ home pitch, ASK Showground – affectionately known as “The Refinery.”

The Buffaloes face hosts Menengai Oilers tomorrow at 3:00 PM in their historic Enterprise Cup debut. After a six week Uganda rugby Premiership, the Kyadondo based side arrived in Nakuru on Thursday. Traveling with a 25 player squad (23 set to feature), they left Kampala Wednesday night, bags packed with gear and ambitions sky high. Sitting second in the local league on 24 points – level with leaders Stanbic Black Pirates – they are in great form. This regional showdown tests their mettle against stiffer competition, far from home soil.
Squads in Nakuru

All eyes will be on the forwards driving the pack and the dynamic backs sparking attacks, a perfect mixture of young and experienced key players – all instrumental in the team’s domestic success.
After settling in Nakuru’s slightly cooler climes, today’s captains’ run at the venue sharpened their edge. The camp buzzes with positivity, and focus.
Opponents Menengai Oilers finished third in the Kenya Cup regular season, trailing only Kabras Sugar (facing Platinum Credit Heathens) and KCB Rugby (against Stanbic Black Pirates). With home turf advantage at The Refinery, they’ll fiercely defend their patch in this first ever clash.
Do the Buffaloes have what it takes? A defining performance Saturday could spark something special.
