Uganda Rugby Premiership Round 2 – Semi-Final 2, concludes today as Toyota Buffaloes host Makerere Impis in the second leg at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, kickoff 4:30 PM.

Buffaloes hold a nine-point advantage after winning the first leg 20–11 at Makerere last Saturday. Trailing 8–6 at halftime, they turned the match with a dominant second half. Fly-half Yasin Waswa’s accurate kicking and clinical finishing sealed the victory.
Impis require a substantial performance to overturn the deficit. Their path to the semi-finals has been remarkable: relegated from the Premiership in 2024, they earned promotion through the Championship playoffs and defeated KCB KOBs in the quarterfinals. A fast start will be essential if they aim to repeat that upset.
A decisive boost for today’s match is the return of three Buffaloes national sevens players: Watmon Fat Moses, Aaron Tukei and Daniels Otim have been included in the 23-player matchday squad. The players were released to club duty following Uganda’s withdrawal from the 2026 Rugby Africa Mauritius Sevens.

Buffaloes will rely on the composure demonstrated in GW9 and last weekend’s win, when they defeated Impis despite trailing at halftime. With a lead and a strong bench, they will seek to control territory and close out the tie.
The winner of Round 2 – Semi-Final 2 advances to the Premiership final, where they will meet the winner of Semi-Final 1 – Round 2 (Pirates vs Heathens), whose matches have not yet been played. Kickoff is 4:30 PM at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.
